Class Groupings

When children first join Motion we will put them into age appropriate classes.

As they get older this may change due to ability. It is important that as a class they work well together and learn at the same pace so that all the children feel they are getting the best teaching from me. 

Occasionally this changes due to pupils in the class picking up the syllabus quicker and excelling in the work given. These children we will often move up so that they are challenged a little more and continue to learn at a pace they feel comfortable with. Moving pupils up does not only benefit the ones moving but also the class they are moving out of. It is extremely difficult to run a class when you have pupils at different levels. Trying to teach and learn at different paces and also keep everyone happy and engaged is a tough job. If everyone is on the same level the class runs a lot smoother and we have happier pupils who feel they can achieve what they want to achieve without feeling rushed or held back. 

If we do want to move pupils up it will usually be discussed between us and the parents and we will work out together what the best solution is.
